Morning blues
“Ting ting” goes my alarm every Monday morning. I lazily put it on snooze, but after five minutes it starts off again. Irritated by the sound I get up and look into my mobile, “Oh God! The time is 5.55 ”. Immediately I get out of my bed, run towards the toilet to pick up my brush and find that the toothpaste is over. I have to run to the nearby shop to get toothpaste, come back, finish brushing… when I check my watch again “It’s 6 :15, Oh no!” I rush for a shower and suddenly the heater stops working. After grumbling for a few seconds, realising that I am wasting time I take bath in the ice cold water “brrrrrrrrrr”. I come out of the bathroom and realise I have forgotten to iron my uniform. I run from pillar to post searching for the iron .
When I am ready and look at the watch, it is half past 6:30. “There goes my first train!” Then after a row of arguments I struggle to get a piece of bread into my mouth. Then my mom yells from the kitchen! “Priya take another slice.” I had taken five minutes to eat one slice; another one would make me go crazy. So I pretend to take it. It is 7:20 and there goes my second train. Ready with my socks I head to get my shoes. A tiny weird creature popps its head out. I hate lizards! My shoe goes flying accompanied by a yell that wakes up the whole colony. My mom comes running asking me to shut my mouth as it was just a lizard (by now she is used to this). Then after a huge emotional atyachar, I get ready and leave for the MRTS station. I run to catch the train, miss the next one by a second. Finally a train comes at 7:40 and I get into it after a lot of pushing and pulling.
Finally my station arrives, I get down and take out my phone. “Oh no! I forgot to charge my mobile.” It gets switched off! Around 8:00 , I manage to reach the school. My dull sleepy face undergoes some kind of chemical change and becomes happy and bright when I meet my friends. My day goes well. After seven hours of fun at school, tired and famished after a lot of gossip, I walk to the station. I reach my house and again my time starts ticking. I have dance class at 4:15 p.m. but get there only by 4:30 to find my teacher waiting with a frown on her face. After class I get back home and start studying. Suddenly sleep creeps up; the symptoms getting worse with time. I close my eyes forgetting about the outside world. Then I hear a strange “ting ting” sound. Iget up to find out that I had been dreaming all the while. The dream made me tired and I deserve a extra 10-minute, don’t I?
