Movie: A walk to remember

Cast: Mandy Moore, Shane West.

This movie is a heart-warming tale of two people. Jamie (Mandy Moore at her best) and Landon (Shane West personifies perfection), who can’t be more different when it comes to beliefs, habits and personalities. Jamie, being the daughter of the Reverend, dresses up in old fashioned clothing, and eventually is the mock of Landon’s gang. Landon, who ends up doing social service as a punishment for his act of stupidity, ends up running into Jamie in drama class, tutoring class and even on Sundays in the church. No Cupid doesn’t strike, fortunately since, after all love isn’t always about that famed angel.

Landon is forced to take help from Jamie to deliver his dialogues and ends up insulting her amidst the company of his vagabond friends. It’s during the staging of the drama that he realizes he’s in love with her and kisses on stage. That act not only shocked the reverend, it proved that both were in love after all. The next few minutes include all the lovely joys of being in love …where in Landon officially names a star after her …all is well, until Jamie confesses that she has leukemia. The way her perfect guy stays by her side, fulfilling each one of her wishes, even one that included getting married in the church where her late mother had got married(here Landon weds Jamie, of course!) is so fantastically touching and forces you to believe in love.
