Movie: Vazhakku Enn 18/9
Cast: Sri, Urmila Mahanta, Manisha Yadhav, Mithun Murali, Kumaravel
Written and directed by “Kadhal” director Balaji Sakthivel, with strong characters, story line, and no duets or fight sequences, this one is unlike any other Tamil movie.
The movie is full of new faces, who are just perfect. Velu (Sri) is from a rural background and works in a street-side shop. He falls in love with Jyothi (Urmila), who works in Aarthy’s (Manisha) house. Dinesh (Mithun) lives in the same apartment as Aarthy. The story revolves around these teenagers and involves many other characters who are also well portrayed.
While Dinesh pursues Aarthy, both being students in a private school, for “fun”; there is the other side: what Sri and Jyothi are ready to give up for each other.
The camera angles in some part might look odd. But script is everything in this movie. It realistically explores the lives of teenagers who belong to both spectrums of society. And there is every possibility that you might relate the characters in the movie to someone you may know.
Bottomline: This one tugs at your emotions, makes sense of society we live in, and makes you applaud. A rare on, don’t miss it.
