Bathroom Science

After being yelled at by my mom, yet again, for not washing my face regularly, I slowly walked towards the bathroom to do the same. I had successfully delayed it until then saying - “I’ve just now switched on the geyser. Please wait”. I took some water into my mouth, it wasn’t hot enough. I was dejected; I took some more and splashed on my face. OUCH!! Hot water! It was hot indeed. I was taken aback. The warmth of the water was acceptable by my mouth but not my skin. Well, this is when my mind discovered for yet another theory.
Hardships help
Our mouth is used to hot drinks and food and has become immune to it; hence it accepted the temperature of the water easily. But our skin seldom interacts with intense heat. This point clearly proves that when one continuously encounters intense hardships in life, troubles fail to frighten him, similar to the way the mouth responded. But when one seldom sacrifices, keeps fighting and rarely works hard, even the slightest troubles tend to bother him, similar to the way the skin reacted. One should always try to trouble, trouble instead of landing into trouble themselves. Only then life becomes easy.

“When you eat a sour tamarind repeatedly, even that turns out to be sweet,” says an ancient poet. How true! Unless we are ready to face the challenges ahead, there is no way out. Don’t ever fear the tough times; even they will turn out useful and may bring out the best in you. Hence, be ready to switch on the geyser and splash warm water on your “skin”.

P.S: Another lesson to be learnt is that even the silliest incidents have great lessons in store for us.
