Calorie-burning console
What if you could workout while being glued to your video game?
When someone asks you what game system you have, you usually say you have a Playstation or an Xbox 360. But only handful in India are aware of the existence of Nintendo’s recent product, the Wii. It was released on November 19th, 2006 in the U.S., but hasn’t yet officially been released in India. Only Wii’s pirated version is available in the Indian market. The thing that makes the Wii special is that it involves physical activity while playing unlike other game consoles. For example, if you’re playing baseball in the game Wii Sports, you have to move the controller like a baseball bat in order to hit the ball. So, in other words, it keeps you healthy by making you do some physical activity while playing games.
Some obese gamers have found the Wii useful in making them active and energetic. The game Wii Fit comes with a balance board for exercises. You also have your own profile just like the Xbox 360, which keeps record of the exercise you’ve done, and the weight you have lost. You can also set a goal for how much weight you want to lose, and it automatically sets a workout plan. The exercises in Wii Fit include balance exercises, aerobic exercises, yoga and muscle workouts. The Wii is also backward compatible, which means it can run Nintendo GameCube games, as well as use GameCube controllers and memory cards. But the GameCube games can only be played using the GameCube controller and can only be saved with the GameCube memory card. It can also connect with the Nintendo DS through Wi-Fi connection, and the Game Boy Advance using the Game Boy Advance link cable. Other features include internet connection through its built in Wireless Connection Reader, parental controls, and download of channels and games from online. So get your own Wii now!

Hey this is a good article, the Wi and the related Wi-Fit are going to help a lot of otherwise sedentary people to lose some weight and increase their fitness. Computer gaming is infrained in our culture and it is pretty cool that Nintendo have been able to merge this with fitness, lets face it fitness and computer games are not something that usually go hand in hand.
