Break stereotypes
Whatever women do they have to do twice as good as men to be thought half as good and luckily for us it’s not difficult! In a male dominated society eve teasing is not a new social evil. It’s been there, it is there, and without efforts it will be there. There is no point in just talking about it, severe action must be taken. First of all some of the atypical cheap movies that portray heroism in its immoral sense must be barred. Also the media in its fullest sense now focuses on skin show. Isn’t this a form of exploitation? So, to abolish eve teasing we should start from the grassroot level. There is no point in concentrating on some of the third rate base men. We should stop encouraging certain things that bring down our self respect. Why give an image that women are timid, shy and homely or that they are only capable for skin show. Let us discourage the social platforms in which women are stereotyped and exploited. We have started encouraging women to be used as a form of entertainment and certain shameful images have clouded those of Rani Lakshmi Bai and Mother Teresa. Let us first focus on bringing back to light the real woman. When this filth has been washed away from people’s mind, let’s see which scoundrel has the guts to stand before us. Let’s deal with exploitation of women which even we encourage indirectly, then lets raise our fist against some useless men of this society!

No safety!
Can anybody name a place where eve teasing doesn’t prevail? Even the ladies compartment of the train in which we travel daily has been attached to the first class compartment and there are men who keep staring at us from the opposite end, embarrassing us. What pleasure do men get from this? And if any of you think that only girls having appealing appearances are those who suffer from this menace, you are wrong. Once I happened to notice a man at the Guindy railway station who followed a college girl (she was very decently dressed, with a simple appearance) all the way as she walked from the station to the share auto, and he threw a rose at her. The next day I saw him doing it at another girl. Are such men psychos or what? They even track down the girls on social networking sites requesting for friendship! (It happened to my friend. Why are these men so jobless?!) We feel insecure. Especially places like railway stations and subways are a big threat to girls’ safety. At the worst, the Guindy subway’s lights do not function on many days, thus favouring these anti-socials.

Deserving punishment
The article made me experience the same feeling any human being with decency would feel - sick to the stomach. Every woman/girl would have indeed experienced the hellish nightmare of eve teasing, and it is also very true that education is no good to the creeps who walk on the road. Nowadays it is the men who are dressed well, educated and old enough to be fathers who turn out to be the creeps. The incidents made me feel that such people should be shot down in the middle of the road, that is, after being submitted to the torture that prisoners of war would undergo. I am sure any girl who has been abused in some form or the other would gladly do the deed. The writer and I share the same wish, that some day society would be rid of such men, from auto drivers to men who walk on the road. They should be punished hard enough to make them regret their crimes for the rest of their lives.

Also commended…
Condemn it
When I used to travel by bus, every time I would see men harassing women. But the other passengers in the bus would not bother to help. The society should strongly condemn it whenever they see this kind of harassment. They should always keep in mind that all the people of this country are the members of their family and they should also think in a situation if such harassements are done to their daughters. If they do not come forward to punish those who engage in such activities, it is sure to happen to someone in their own family. Society should come forward to condemn eve teasing and we should not be afraid to lodge a complain with the police. Women are born equal to men and one should treat them with divinity and with full care. This will lead to a safe and secure society.
