Year full of don’ts

“Remember that you are going to face the board exams this year”. “This is the first step that you are going to take towards your future”. Avoid TV, (called “idiot box by George Bernard Shaw”, but thought as a box of necessity by today’s youngsters) entertainment, sports, etc, for a year”.” Forget everything other than academics”.

Hints and tips

These are a few catchy quotes told to the students of Std X. The pressure formed by hearing these quotes continuously is difficult to get rid off even difficult than getting rid of the pressure of facing board exams. But frankly speaking, unlike my friends, I have never had the difficulty of getting rid of any of these fears because; I never felt the pressures to get rid off them. The reason is I never took these quotes to my mind. The principle is just simple - transparency (what gets inserted through one hole is ejected through the other), the advantage of having two ears.

Try once and ask a person who advises you about taking board exams, what he had achieved in his tenth standard. Thereafter he/she will repent as though he/she forgot that you are in the tenth standard (experience speaks). There are some people who keep talking even after this treatment. Treat them as a dog’s tail, which can’t be straightened and proceed further. As for the pressure of facing the board exams, it is the same as facing any other exam. But has high value as far as others are concerned. So my advice to the tenth standard students is “don’t worry about any of these pressures and keep going in the same way, you did before arriving at the tenth standard”.
