Our readers on NXg
REACTIONS A first anniversary is a good time to take stock and those who made it happen tell us what they like or dislike about NXg…
Showcase for youth
I think that NXG is a comprehensive showcase for the youth, whether it be fashion or music, news or reviews, or success stories,. I read NXG primarily for the variety that it offers, for its crispness which makes every Thursday morning a mixture of fun, nostalgia and enthusiasm. I like the way the content has been arranged. The book and album reviews are really great.
What I dislike about NXg: I do not like the movie quizzes and the emphasis on movie starlets. I would like more success stories of ordinary youth and not superstars.

Vibrant
NXg is a wonderful platform for college students, movie buffs, gadget geeks and book worms. It’s the paper for me because of its youthful content, it’s vibrant. It has all I want to impress my girl. The fact that the people who write are people who I can relate to makes it an even more interesting read. I like, sorry, love the Weekly Movie Quiz. I love the fact that I can get free tickets to INOX. It’s a very expensive theatre, and, thanks to NXg I had a lucky chance to go see “Luck By Chance”(forgive the pun).
What I dislike about NXg: I hate the gossip column. Come on we get that in every paper. It’s a waste of space and more importantly paper!

Delicious platter
I think NXg is the last outpost on Planet earth where Star Trek begins. Tell me who wouldn’t want a Star Trek. NXg thinks beyond the dreams of previous generations. Just the way my nerve cells think. The Glitz and Glam, Feel Good and Look Good all in one mouth-watering delicious platter. I would rather not ‘like’ NXg. I love NXg.

Forum for expression
What I like about NXg is that it reflects our hopes, our dreams, our aspirations, and our concerns. NXg gives me as a forum to express my views and enhance the sensitivities and insights of my friends and peers.

Interactive
NXG is a complete package of all kinds of news that a youngster would like to read. The best part is that it is a very interactive paper and gives us an opportunity to voice our opinions on various issues. What I dislike about NXg: Well, not exactly dislike, but I would prefer if NXG would involve more school teens by introducing a column for school fests, culturals and take interviews of not just celebrities and great people but also normal teens making a difference.

Free expressions
The idea of NXg is really amazing because there aren’t many periodicals dedicated to youngsters. The best part is that we can freely express our views and everyone can know what the youth feel. There are many serious problems in India; Nxg can include a small column about such problems in every edition and what young people can do about it. The reason why I’m requesting this is because most of the youngsters don’t know about the problems that India faces.

Positivism
With a bit of everything that comes together to symphonise life, NXg is, what I want to be: a jack of all trades, and a master of one:cheerfulness! The paper vibrates with a positivism that I have always tried to imbibe in my life. The best way to describe it would be to jot down words that I associate with it: vibrancy, youth, sunshine, hope, goodwill, cheer, unity, integrity, opportunity, news, communion of ideas, space, freedom…
What I dislike about NXg: Often the less content-more pictures norm is followed. This dilutes the standards of the paper. NXg should also look at forums like social networking sites, blogs to create a multi-fold interaction with the youth. More live contests, road rallies, opinion polls, tips could be incorporated. NXg is still the caterpillar waiting to shed its skin. We all know it has a beautiful butterfly in the hiding. We are waiting for it to emerge very soon…
