Journey to college
Travelling long distance to reach college is a boring process. The studious students make use of that time by reading course books, but some spend the time reading novel. As reading novel in the morning doesn’t appeal me much I pick the newspaper. However it is also not an easy work, turning pages becomes a problem when the train becomes crowded. Thus I mostly prefer a window seat at least I can watch the passing scenery and enjoy the nature.
Well if you are with a group of friends the matter is entirely different. You can cover even double the distance and still not realize, because you’ll be chatting. The topic is never a problem you just pick one and go on about it. This is applicable not just for youngsters but to old ladies also.
In a train from Siding to Beach there travel a group of friends, aunties to describe them generally. They usually sit in one place and after everybody from the group had boarded the train (after travelling about one third distance) they sing song.
Old is gold is an apt expression, because there are no songs like that of the black and white era. They are simple but beautiful songs which talk about the usual happenings of life. When I first heard them I was in other end of the compartment from where only the enchanting music was heard and not the words. Thus the next day when I went to their end I was able to hear the songs clearly. It was clear that the group is well known because while getting down at Beach I heard one lady making a request which was promised to be sung the next day. From that day onwards I tried to travel in that train to listen to the olden goodies.
These kind of interesting happenings make the travel to long distance even more easier.
