Great experience

My Take

Come summer and while school kids enjoyed their much awaited holidays we college students had to prepare for our summer internships. How much ever we moaned and groaned about having to work during holidays our laments fell on deaf ears. Our parents and college made sure that we were not given the opportunity to laze around and exercise our freedom, which by the way is one of our constitutional rights. Instead, our parents put an end to our holidays and shoved us out the door. My parents being no exception I too had to do an internship programme for a month. I began my internship at Brand-Comm which specialises in advertising, PR and Brand Consulting.

As I wished to learn about PR I joined the PR domain. On my first day I was a nervous wreck wondering what I would be facing. To my relief I was given a warm welcome and within a short while I was made to feel a part of the team. Suddenly my dreaded internship became a fun filled and pleasurable event. I was introduced to a whole new world and I discovered that the big bad corporate world wasn’t so bad after all. My dreaded boss became my mentor and my colleagues became my friends. Apart from being a lot of fun they helped and guided me throughout my training. My internship was a great experience and I learned a lot. I was given a lot of exposure and I got a chance to meet and interact with a lot of people from different fields. Brand-Comm not only motivated me but also gave me confidence in my abilities. Towards the end of my internship I realised that it had actually made my holidays a lot of fun.
